Our latest "Employee Spotlight" features a Q&A with Julien Sweat, Measurement Operations Analyst at InMarket.
As a Measurement Operations Analyst here at InMarket, Julien Sweat works closely with various internal teams to ensure campaigns are performing well by regularly running QA and trouble-shooting any discrepancies that might pop up. Julien joined the team almost five months ago, in July 2023, and is currently based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
What brought you to InMarket?
Julien Sweat: Throughout college and my early career, I’ve had an interest in data analytics. Initially, I was keen on applying to my current position at InMarket due to the parallels between my skills and experience and the role they were looking to fill. What I found was not just a data analytics role, but a surplus of diverse, forward-thinking and kind individuals that make me look forward to starting work every day.
Why did you choose to pursue a career in marketing?
JS: Advertising and marketing was not a particular goal for me early in my career, although I’m happy to be anywhere I can keep my analytical tools sharp and continual professional development is encouraged.
What does your typical day at InMarket look like?
JS: Typically, I spend the day digging through campaign results ensuring everything is running well. When needed I work closely with our account managers and clients to spotlight any interesting variables across campaigns.
What tips or advice would you give to someone just starting out at InMarket?
JS: Take lots of notes and ask all the questions. Things move fast and it’s helpful to have information on hand for yourself and others.
What is a marketing trend you’re most excited about?
JS: I love brand collaborations. I need to see an Xbox x New Balance collab soon.
What’s your favorite app on your phone, and why?
JS: I challenge anyone reading this to take me on in 8 Ball Pool.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
JS: I enjoy photography, cooking and trying new restaurants! My proudest photography moment has to be when I took a picture of the Whirlpool Galaxy. It doesn’t look spectacular but I was limit testing a Canon T5i with a 50mm lens for astro-photography and managed to capture it.
